Jaeja was a magazine produced in collaboration with Addi Schram in Iceland during the halcyon days before the 2008 collapse of the Icelandic Kronur. We gathered together previously unpublished maps, interviewed city officials and urban designers about Reykjavik's real estate boom, and combined it with content about urban growth in cities across the world by comparison. We solicited research by many designers we respect including Ted Kane, Makoto Mizutani, and Richard Hollington. Our strategy for publication was to propose we take over production of a glossy local real estate magazine, usually promoting local interior designers and products, distributed for free to new homebuyers. 10,000 copies were printed and distributed within Reykjavik.
